FAQ – The Hyve

About The Hyve

The Hyve is a learning space that focuses on developing children and youths beyond academics. Our programs build social skills (SQ), creativity (CQ), digital skills (DQ), and emotional intelligence (EQ) to prepare students for future challenges while nurturing confidence and curiosity.

We believe these skills go hand in hand when preparing for exams.

Our programs are designed for children and youths, typically from around 4 years old to teenagers. Different classes and workshops are tailored to specific age groups to ensure the learning experience is age-appropriate and engaging.

Most programs do not include traditional homework. However, students may be encouraged to continue small projects or ideas at home.

Some programs and bootcamps may provide certificates of completion, especially for workshops or longer programs.

Coaches & Teaching Team

Our coaches come from diverse professional and educational backgrounds and have experience mentoring children and youths. They undergo a set of training and are selected not only for their expertise but also for their ability to engage students, nurture confidence, and create a supportive learning environment.

Some of our coaches are behavioral consultants, certified in play therapy and more.

Class Experience

To ensure quality interaction and personalised guidance, our classes are usually kept small (including 1-1 sessions based on the coach’s recommendations), allowing coaches to give attention to each student.

Yes. Many students join us feeling shy initially. Our coaches are experienced in gently encouraging participation through activities, teamwork, and positive reinforcement. Students are never forced to speak or perform before they feel ready.

Parents may be invited for special sharing sessions, showcases, or presentations where students demonstrate what they have learned.

For regular classes, we encourage students to learn independently to build confidence. Parents are encouraged to wait outside the class to ensure class progress smoothly.

Most materials are provided. If a class requires special items (e.g. show and tell item), students will be informed in advance.
